Val has over two decades of diverse experience leading individuals, teams, and projects across multiple sectors to high levels of success as a dynamic business coach, growth catalyst, and storyteller. With over 10 years of world-class leadership development, facilitation, and design training from the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL®), a top-ranked global executive education provider, she thrives connecting people and ideas.

The creation of inspiring spaces to share wisdom and community is the culmination of Val’s life’s work, empowering leaders of all ages to show up for their brightest, most authentic selves. Val believes leader development and learning should be transformative and fun! We all need life witnesses, mentors, and support to be our best. She delivers workshops, retreats, group, and one-to-one coaching experiences of the highest quality, and is committed to excellence in everything she does.

Val always said she would teach and write “later” in life when she had something to teach and write about. “The time has come,” the Walrus said, “To talk of many things…” Experience is the best teacher, and Val has undoubtedly walked the walk.

Born with rose-colored glasses on, Val is a silver linings, glass half-full kind of girl in the core of her DNA. As a longtime survivor of serious health conditions beginning in childhood, she had no choice but to become an expert at making lemonade out of life’s lemons. She knows how to practice relentless optimism when things are burning down all around her, how to catalyze a crisis and find meaning and purpose rising up through the flames. She has had lots of practice spinning the most challenging of situations into positive outcomes.

Val has fought tooth and nail for her beautiful life over and over again on the journey to leading herself, and will show you how to transcend survive and flow into thrive as she has. Operating from a place of strength allows us to have a more expansive impact in the world and live out our own unique Personal Legends, in the words of Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist, and enlisting Val on your team will help you get there.

Val is certified to deliver the Organization Workshop by Power + Systems and the Murphy-Meisgeier Type Indicator for Children® (MMTIC®) psychological type assessment. She has been a live storyteller with The Monti and keynote speaker for a variety of organizations. Recent publications include The Importance of Young Women’s Leadership: Our Story With Girl Scouts, Wildfire Magazine August/September 2021 Family issue, February/March 2021 BAYS issue, and December/January 2021 Family issue. She earned her BA in Sociology, magna cum laude from the University of Arizona, and has completed additional graduate-level coursework and writing workshops.
